The ancient technology of wood charring, yakisugi, that has been cultivated for many centuries,  is a completely natural method to protect the wood from environmental factors, at the same time giving it a unique appearance. 

The uniqueness of this technique is the treatment of the outer part of the boards with fire – the surface caramelized in this way acquires a rich shade, a unique texture and is protected without using chemical means.
